Our conference center hotel has 242 guest rooms. The primary function of this position is to provide adequate supplies of clean linen to the Room Attendants, to empty the bags of soiled linen from the carts and to keep the hallways and landings on the guest floors free of trash and debris.

Job Summary:
The primary function of the Houseperson is to provide adequate supplies of clean linen to the Room Attendants, to empty the bags of soiled linen from the carts and to keep the hallways and landings on the guest floors free of trash and debris.

Essential Job Tasks:
•Deliver and evenly distribute fresh laundered linen from the laundry storage to the maids closet on each floor daily, replenishing the supply as linens become available throughout the shift.
•Gather trays of used guest room drinking glasses, clean and sanitize them using the laundry room dish machine and return them to the maids closet, keeping a constant supply of clean glasses for the guest rooms.
•Vacuum hallways on assigned floors daily following training procedures for use of the vacuum cleaner and attachments and remove all debris that may create a safety hazard.
•Remove bags of soiled linen from the housekeeping carts as they fill, dump them into the laundry chute for laundering and return the empty bag to the appropriate cart.
•Collect and change trash bags on the maids carts two (2) to three (3) times daily as needed, taking all collected trash to the dumpster to ensure proper disposal.
•Maintain cleanliness of windowsills and vending areas on assigned floors by vacuuming and dusting and keep all glass and mirrors smudge free using the appropriate cleaning chemicals daily.
•Respond to guest requests promptly by delivering items such as cribs, extra towels, roll-a-ways, etc.
•Clean service elevator area landings three times a week by sweeping, mopping, remembering to display the “wet floor” signs while working.

Other Tasks:
•Participate in and learn emergency procedures to provide a safe and secure environment for all co-workers and guests.
•Apply STARWOOD GUEST SERVICE STANDARDS and Sheraton Culture training guidelines to provide a productive work environment through teamwork, cooperation, positive attitude and a desire to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction possible.
•Participate in 90 day and annual performance reviews to assess and qualify your on-going performance in your current position.
•Maintain professional, neat and clean attire, including name tag, in an effort to establish the desired image for the rest of the staff.
•Will have access to guests and their property and/or will have access to confidential employer, employee or financial information. Will be required to safeguard all information and keep it confidential.


Job Requirements:
•Ability to speak and understand English.
•Possession of basic math, computer and reading skills.
